So youโve heard about blockchain property verification. Maybe you read one of our earlier articles. Maybe a friend mentioned it. Maybe youโre just curious. Either way, youโre thinking: okay, but how does this actually work in practice?
This guide walks you through the entire process of minting a Verified Owner NFT on Stellarise. No jargon. No assumptions about your technical background. Just the steps, what to expect, and what happens afterward.
Before We Start: What Youโll Need
The requirements are intentionally minimal:
- Your property details โ address, type (house, apartment, land, etc.), and basic information about the property.
- Proof of ownership โ this could be your title deed, a land office record, or any official document that shows you as the registered owner.
- A Stellarise account โ free to create at stellarise.io.
- A few minutes โ the submission process itself takes about 5โ10 minutes.
Thatโs it. You donโt need to own any cryptocurrency. You donโt need a crypto wallet to get started. You donโt need to understand blockchain technology. Stellarise handles the technical side for you.
Step 1: Create Your Stellarise Account
Head to stellarise.io and create an account. This is a standard signup โ email, password, basic profile information. Nothing unusual here.
Why do we need an account? Because your Verified Owner badge will be linked to your profile. When buyers see your verification, they can click through to see your verified identity (without sensitive personal details being exposed).
Step 2: Submit Your Property for Verification
Once youโre logged in, navigate to the Mint section. This is where youโll enter your property details:
- Property address and location โ be specific. The more precise, the better the verification.
- Property type and description โ is it a house, an apartment, commercial space, land?
- Photos โ upload current photos of your property. These will appear on your listing and help buyers identify the property.
- Ownership documents โ upload your proof of ownership. These documents are used only for verification and are not shared with buyers or the public.
A note on privacy: your ownership documents are used solely to verify that you are the legitimate owner. They are not stored on the blockchain, not visible to buyers, and not published anywhere. The blockchain only records the result of the verification (โthis person is the verified ownerโ), not the documents themselves.
Step 3: Verification Review
After you submit, Stellarise reviews your property details and ownership documents. This is a human-assisted process โ we donโt just auto-approve everything, because the integrity of the verification is what makes it valuable.
During this step, we check that your documents are valid and match the property details, that you are listed as the registered owner, and that the property details are consistent and accurate.
If anything needs clarification, weโll reach out. The goal is to make sure every Verified Owner badge on Stellarise is genuinely backed by confirmed ownership, not just a form submission.
Step 4: Your NFT Is Minted
Once verification is confirmed, the magic happens โ though itโs less magic and more mathematics. A smart contract on the Polygon blockchain mints a unique NFT that serves as your Verified Owner certificate.
What happens technically:
- A unique token is created on the Polygon blockchain, tied to your property.
- This token contains metadata about the verification: when it was verified, what property it represents, and your verified status.
- The token is recorded permanently on the blockchain. It cannot be altered, duplicated, or deleted.
- The transaction costs approximately $0.01 in blockchain fees โ Stellarise covers this as part of the process.
What you experience: you get a notification that your property is now verified, and your listing shows the Verified Owner badge. Thatโs it. You donโt need to understand the technical layer unless you want to.
Step 5: Market Your Verified Property
Now comes the part that matters: using your verification to attract serious buyers.
Your property listing on Stellarise now displays the Verified Owner badge prominently. Buyers browsing the platform can filter for verified properties, and your listing immediately stands out from unverified ones.
But donโt limit yourself to Stellarise. Use your verified status across all your marketing:
- On property portals โ mention in your description that your ownership is blockchain-verified on Stellarise. Include a link.
- On social media โ share your verified listing. The badge is a visual trust signal that resonates with buyers, especially tech-savy and international ones.
- In direct conversations โ when a buyer asks โare you the real owner?โ you can point them to your blockchain record verified status.
What Happens When You Sell?
This is a question we get often. When you sell your property, the legal transfer happens through normal channels โ a licensed lawyer handles the transaction, the land office records the new owner, and all the traditional steps are followed.
After the legal transfer is complete, the smart contract can transfer the NFT to the new owner, keeping the blockchain record up to date. The new owner can then re-verify under their own Stellarise account and continue marketing with the same Verified Owner badge.
The key point: Stellarise doesnโt replace any legal process. We add a trust layer on top of it. The sale itself follows the law, as it should.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need cryptocurrency to mint?
No. Stellarise handles the blockchain transaction for you. You donโt need to buy, hold, or understand cryptocurrency.
Do I need a crypto wallet?
Not to get started. If you want to hold and manage your NFT directly on the blockchain, youโll need a Polygon-compatible wallet (like MetaMask), but this is optional. Stellarise manages the certificate for you by default.
How long does the whole process take?
Submission takes 5โ10 minutes. Verification typically completes within 24โ48 hours. The NFT minting itself is near-instant once verification is confirmed.
Can I verify a property Iโm renting or managing?
No. Verification is only available for registered property owners. If youโre an agent or tenant, you cannot get a Verified Owner badge, because youโre not the owner. This restriction is what gives the badge its credibility.
What if I own multiple properties?
Each property gets its own verification and NFT. You can verify as many properties as you own.
What if my property documents are in a language other than English?
Stellarise accepts ownership documents in English, Bahasa Malaysia and French. For other languages, a certified translation may be required during the verification step. The blockchain certificate itself is language-neutral โ it records the property reference and the verified owner identifier, not the document text.
Can I update my Verified Owner certificate if my contact details change?
Your contact details on your Stellarise profile can be updated at any time without affecting the underlying NFT. The blockchain certificate proves ownership of the property โ it is not a contact card. Buyers always reach you through your current Stellarise profile, regardless of when the certificate was minted.
The Bigger Picture
Minting a property NFT on Stellarise isnโt about jumping on a crypto trend. Itโs about giving yourself a competitive advantage in a market where trust is the scarcest resource.
The global tokenized real estate market is projected to reach $4 trillion by 2035. The infrastructure is being built right now. And within that infrastructure, the property owners who can prove their legitimacy with a single click โ rather than a stack of emailed documents โ will be the ones buyers choose first.
